Nicholas Tiliacos,
President and Chief Executive Officer

Nicholas Tiliacos, Varolii Corporation's President and Chief Executive Officer, has held key general management, sales, marketing and finance positions in the call center, customer relationship management (CRM) and telecommunications industries. Tiliacos was President and CEO of Mosaix Inc. Under Tiliacos' leadership, Mosaix transformed from a call center company to one focused on CRM software and services, which in turn led to its 1999 acquisition by Lucent/Avaya.

Tiliacos has received many industry awards, including Call Center Magazine's Pioneer Award. He holds a BS in Business Administration from Florida State University and an MA in international management from the American Graduate School of International Management.

 

John Flavio,
Chief Financial Officer

John Flavio, Varolii Corporation's Chief Financial Officer and former Board of Directors member, has over 30 years experience in public and private financing, acquisitions and divestitures, strategic planning and analysis, and general management. Prior to joining Varolii, Flavio was CFO for Postini, Inc., a global leader in Communication Security and Compliance solutions and was CFO and Senior Vice President of Keynote Systems, Inc, a leading provider of mobile communications and internet performance solutions.

While at Keynote Systems, Inc. Flavio greatly contributed to the company's growth, successfully completed its Initial and Secondary Public Offerings and raised over $300M, which led to the acquisition of several companies. Flavio's other key positions include CFO and Senior Vice President of Finance / Administration for Mosaix, Inc. (acquired by Lucent Technologies).

Flavio holds a B.S. degree in Finance from Santa Clara University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Derrick Mar,
Chief Technology Officer

Derrick Mar is responsible for leading Varolii’s technical innovation and product architecture strategies. He has held leadership roles with increasing responsibility in the technology industry for over 20 years, focusing on software-as-a-service, computer/information security, mission critical enterprise software, financial/trading software, and distributed real-time software.

Mar's extensive experience includes leading technical and product strategies for organizations such as Microsoft, FrontBridge Technologies, Entercept Security Technologies, IBM, TIBCO and Reuters. While at FrontBridge, Mar grew the Engineering team by nearly 300% and supported an increase from 15 million to 300 million emails processed through the company's data centers per day in less than 12 months. During this time, FrontBridge was also recognized by Gartner as the most visionary leader in its industry.

Mar graduated with the President's Achievement Award in Computer Science from University of Washington, Seattle, and earned his MBA from the Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley.

Jeffrey Read,
Executive Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Business Development

Jeffrey Read has over 17 years of successful global managerial experience in meeting customer needs and substantially growing new software and services revenues. He has held senior executive positions at Cape Clear, PeopleSoft, and SAS Institute.

Prior to joining Varolii, Read worked as President and COO for Cape Clear Software Inc., a provider of software integration tools. Read also served nine years with PeopleSoft, Inc., an enterprise application software company, where he held a variety of executive management positions that spanned direct & channel sales, professional services, and marketing and product management in both the US and Europe.

Read holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and is a graduate from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Canada.

Francisco Thions,
Executive Vice President, Professional Services, Technology & Business Operation

Francisco Thions has worked at the most senior levels in the technology industry. His prior experience includes serving as CEO for Pluricom and leading DEC and Hewlett Packard's Mexico operations, as well as heading up market research and strategic consulting companies with operations in both Mexico and the US.

Thions has a BS in Physics and Mathematics, a MS in Physics from the University of California at Berkeley, and a PhD in Mathematics from University of Grenoble in France. He has also attended Executive programs at Stanford University and Insead Fontainebleau, France.
